About Us

Abington Avenue is a United Reformed Church with a congregation of around 150 adults and children worshipping each Sunday.

We are a community of faith of all ages, drawn together by Jesus Christ to worship and serve God and exploring what it means to be His people today.

Sunday morning worship

Morning services start at 10.45am with the whole church family together for the first part of the service. Children then leave to go to their Junior Church groups. Children up to the age of three may go to the Nursery before the service or when the children leave for their groups.

On the third Sunday of each month we hold an All Age Worship, when only the very youngest children (under 5s) leave for their group.

Sunday Evening Worship

The evening services start at 6.30pm and are held in the chapel.

Holy Communion is included within the service on the first Sunday morning and the third Sunday evening of each month.

Music

A variety of musical styles are a feature of our worship. As well as music from the organ our services include music from our worship band and, once a month, our Orchestra leads the music for the service.
