Junior Church

Our Junior Church offers a friendly and welcoming environment to children of all ages. Approximately 35 children attend regularly with a further 30 children coming on a more occasional basis.

The children start their Sunday morning worship with the main family of the Church. They then go into the Church Rooms to continue their activities. Here they split into the following age groups

Creche          for under 3 years old

Sparklers     for 3 to 5 years

AllStars         for 6 to 7 years

Trailblazers  for 8 to 10 years

Lazers           for 11 to 13 years

Pathfinders  for 14 and over.

Teaching is based on the Scripture Union materials, introducing the children to Bible stories and involving them in singing, activities and games. The older children in the Lazer and Pathfinder groups are encouraged to join in discussions.

Each group has a leader and helpers who are encouraged to attend courses during the year and have been CRB checked.

Godly play takes place at our church for younger members of Junior Church on the first Sunday of every month. Godly Play is a creative and imaginative approach to Christian nurture. It involves telling a story (usually, but not exclusiverly from the Bible) using objects and artefacts, exploring the story more with open questions and discussion, and responding with a choice of activities and art materials.

The Junior Church leads the ‘all age’ Sunday services for the Junior Church festival, the Christmas Nativity and the Mothers day services.

Children from new and visiting families are always welcomed into the Junior Church
